This role supports operational coordination and control room activities within a regulated technical environment at JRC Ispra.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Control Room Assistant to support operational monitoring, coordination and documentation activities at JRC Ispra. You will help ensure information, events and operational requests are managed accurately in a structured, safety-focused environment.
How you will make an impact
·Operational monitoring: Support the monitoring of plant and infrastructure conditions through supervision systems, operational records and internal procedures.
·Control room information and records: Receive, record, update and route operational information, including requests, notifications, logbooks, databases and daily reports.
·Maintenance and activity coordination: Support planned and corrective maintenance by helping coordinate communications, documentation checks and activity follow-up.
·Site procedures and emergency support: Support communication between the Control Room and field teams, take part in operational briefings and follow applicable site procedures, including HSE and emergency processes.

You will collaborate with facility supervisors, maintenance teams, technical leads, radiation protection specialists, JRC representatives and other site stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role

· A high school diploma, preferably from a technical, professional or equivalent educational background. A degree is not required for this role.
· Previous experience in operational, administrative or coordination activities within industrial, infrastructure, plant, facility management or regulated environments.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital management systems, with the ability to update records, manage data, follow procedures and work accurately with operational documentation.
· English language knowledge is considered an advantage, together with any previous exposure to supervision systems, dispatching, control rooms, operation centers, HSE, radiation protection or plant monitoring.
· Accuracy, reliability, confidentiality, attention to detail, strong organization skills and the ability to communicate clearly within multidisciplinary teams.
You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters most is accuracy, reliability, willingness to learn and the ability to follow clear procedures in a technical environment.

Compensation and benefits
WSP is committed to pay transparency. This is a 12-month contract position. The annual gross salary range for this position is €27,000 - €31,300. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications and relevant expertise.
