Job Description

TenuretrackpositionintheElementaryEducationprogramwith expectationsto: 

• Provideuniversitycourse instruction that models effective instruction in ElementaryEducationintheareasofcurriculum and instruction,pedagogy, culturally and linguistically inclusiveinstruction,social studies methods, or literacy. 

• Provide academicadvising, studentsupport, studentadvocacy, mentorship, and recruitment. 

• Participate in departmental and program operation, addressingdepartmentalandprogramenhancement, state and national accreditation and program assessment and review. 

• Teach and work effectively withpersons fromculturally andlinguisticallydiversebackgrounds,includinganassetapproachtomultilingualism. 

• Engage in scholarly activity 

Salary Range:*The salary range denoted is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• DoctorateinC&I,ElementaryEducation,or    relatedfield. (ABD considered with degree to becompletedbeforeappointmentdate.) 

• HoldsorhasrecentlyheldaK-6elementaryeducationlicense. 

• Minimum ofthree years’ experience as a licensed, full-time classroom teacher of record in a K-6, U.S. public, elementary school. 

• Demonstratedabilityto effectivelyutilizetechnologyininstruction. 

• Demonstrated ability to teach and work collaboratively and effectively withpersons from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. 

Preferred Qualification 

• Arecordofteachingexcellenceattheuniversitylevelwithinthedepartment of Elementary Education:curriculum andinstruction,pedagogy,culturally andlinguistically sustaining instruction,social studiesmethods or literacy. 

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a licensed, full-time classroom teacher of record in a K-6, U.S., public, elementary school. 

• Background or degree and successful experienceinmulti-lingualeducation. 

• Demonstrated ability to effectivelyutilize technology in instruction for both university candidates and elementaryclassrooms includingonline or hybrid teaching. 

• Demonstrated scholarly activity, such as research studies, professionalarticles and/or professional presentations. 

• Demonstratedeffectiveexperiencewithcoursedesign,instruction,and assessment aligned with Minnesota Standards of EffectivePractice,and/orMinnesotaContent Standards. 

• Experiencewith academicadvising, studentsupport, mentorship, or recruitment.
