 Description 

We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Koch Services IT team! In this role, you'll serve as a key technical resource across Koch Companies and Koch Logistics, supporting systems infrastructure, cybersecurity, network operations, email services, backups, Citrix, and enterprise technology initiatives. You'll partner with IT leadership and internal teams to implement new technologies, strengthen security, troubleshoot complex issues, and keep critical systems reliable and secure. 

Location: Corporate Office, Golden Valley 

Hiring Range:$90,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; occasional off-hours work and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.

What You'll Do 

  • Build, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain infrastructure servers across multiple locations. 

  • Identify internal and external cybersecurity vulnerabilities and implement timely remediation plans. 

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Citrix infrastructure, firewalls, email services, email security, backups, infrastructure monitoring, and endpoint imaging. 

  • Assist with network maintenance, upgrades, routing, switching, and troubleshooting across company locations. 

  • Partner with software teams to identify, isolate, and remediate issues affecting critical business functions. 

  • Create and manage tickets with third-party vendors and Koch Services IT, communicate status, and drive issues to resolution. 

  • Monitor hardware integrity, warranties, licenses, and lifecycle information to support reliable technology operations. 

  • Maintain technical knowledge-base content and documentation for systems, processes, and equipment. 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise software upgrades, installations, and other technology initiatives. 

  • Manage end-user security training requirements and advise IT staff on campaign needs. 

  • Coordinate with clients and team members to reduce risk, resolve issues, and improve user satisfaction. 

  • Participate in in-person meetings, cross-training, continuous process improvement, and the after-hours on-call rotation. 

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned. 

Knowledge and Skills to be Successful 

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate complex issues. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across phone, email, instant message, and in-person interactions. 

  • Working knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, networking, routing, switching, and systems integration best practices. 

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, security monitoring, remediation, and incident response procedures. 

  • Experience supporting enterprise technologies such as firewalls, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, backups, and infrastructure monitoring. 

  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment. 

  • Ability to learn, support, and train others on new technologies. 

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, adaptability, teamwork, and customer service skills. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

  • 7-10+ years of experience with hardware systems and systems applications. 

  • 2+ years of cybersecurity standards experience, including security monitoring and remediation knowledge. 

  • 3-5+ years of firewall knowledge and switching/routing experience. 

  • 3+ years of Citrix knowledge. 

  • 5+ years of Microsoft Exchange experience. 

  • 3+ years of cybersecurity training administration experience. 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. 

Additional Role Requirements 

  • Regular travel to local Koch locations within the Twin Cities metro area and occasional travel outside Minnesota; reliable transportation is required. 

  • Ability to work occasional unusual hours for system upgrades or emergencies supporting a 24x7x365 operation. 

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and screen; lift up to 30 lbs.; and occasionally bend, stoop, crouch, or strain to move or adjust computer equipment. 

About the Role 

The salary grade for this position ranges from $89,300.00 - $130,400.00. Starting pay within this range will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
