Location: Remote (U.S.)
Type: W-2 contract, 3 year assignment

About the role
Join an application team for an organization in the energy sector, keeping enterprise and plant-floor applications running. You’ll configure, support and upgrade application infrastructure and integrations, automate deployments, and help build the development and quality environments the team uses every day.
We’re hiring at junior, mid and senior levels. Scope depends on experience.

What you’ll do

• Configure, maintain and support application infrastructure and integrations for the team’s systems
• Troubleshoot application issues
• Support deployments and upgrades
• Manage, deploy and configure Windows and Linux servers
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation (e.g., Ansible or comparable tools) for deployment and configuration
• Develop strategies for automated deployment where possible
• Help build the development and quality environments the team uses day to day
• Develop processes that support the team’s growth

What you need

• Experience administering enterprise or plant-floor applications
• Experience managing, deploying and configuring Windows and Linux servers
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Ansible or comparable tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills

For Mid and Senior levels, also:

• Experience developing or contributing to strategies for automated deployment
• Ability to develop repeatable processes that support a growing team

Preferred background

• Commercial nuclear power plant operations experience, ideally with accountability to NERC and FERC requirements
• Or experience at a regulated utility or heavy-industrial company

Nice to have

• PowerShell, Bash or Python scripting
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration (Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server)
• IBM Maximo or other COTS application administration
• Infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools (Terraform, Puppet, Chef)
• Azure or hybrid cloud hosting
• Plant-floor or OT applications such as historians

Experience levels

• Junior (0–4 years): supports and maintains applications and servers with general guidance
• Mid (4–8 years): handles deployments, upgrades and automation independently
• Senior (8+ years): designs deployment and environment strategy, leads technical work and mentors others

Work environment

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and use stairs
• Travel: 0–5%
