About the role
Globalpundits is hiring a Systems Engineer for a multi-year technology program with a client in the regulated energy sector. You'll independently configure, maintain and support application infrastructure and integrations for the team's systems. You'll troubleshoot application issues and support deployments and upgrades.
What you'll do
- Configure, maintain and support application infrastructure and integrations with limited supervision
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately to highly complex application and integration issues
- Plan and support deployments, patches and upgrades, including testing and rollback steps
- Monitor performance, availability and capacity, and recommend improvements
- Automate routine administration tasks through scripting
- Lead specific technical tasks or workstreams and guide junior engineers
What we're looking for
- 4–8 years of experience administering enterprise or plant-floor applications
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application, server, database and integration layers
- Hands-on experience supporting deployments and version upgrades
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux servers, databases such as SQL Server or Oracle, and application integrations
- Scripting or light development experience (for example PowerShell, Python, SQL or Bash) is a plus
