Position Summary...
The Systems Administrator – Technology Operations is responsible for supporting day-to-day control room operations, including batch processing, system monitoring, and incident management within a mainframe environment. This role ensures system stability, supports critical business processes, and escalates issues appropriately to maintain SLA compliance. The associate works closely with senior team members and SMEs to troubleshoot issues, execute operational procedures, and provide timely support to internal customers.What you'll do...
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily control room operations, including monitoring alerts, handling batch job abends, and managing incidents in accordance with SOPs.
- ExecuteControl-M activities such as holding, releasing, and restarting jobs.
- Monitorbatch flows and escalate issues to ensure SLAs for critical processes are met.
- Monitorz/OS systems, review logs, and perform initial troubleshooting; engage next-level support when required.
- Execute operational procedures includingIPLs (Initial Program Loads), maintenance implementations, and task restarts (bounce activities).
- Monitor system health using tools such asChronos and report issues to senior leads or SMEs as needed.
- Create, update, and manageincident tickets and RITMs in ServiceNow, ensuring all tickets are accurately updated before shift end.
- Provide support todata centers (DCs), including troubleshooting batch processing issues and resolving printer-related problems.
- Support and facilitateEDIM (Data Center Power Outage activities) and related operational events.
- Handle customer support requests viaphone queue, email, and chat platforms (Zoom, Teams, Slack) while meeting response SLAs.
- Follow established escalation procedures and SOPs for issue management and resolution.
- Maintain proper documentation and communicate issues effectively during shift handovers.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience intechnology operations, control room, or system administration.
- Basic knowledge ofmainframe environments (z/OS) and batch processing concepts.
- Experience withjob scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).
- Familiarity withServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a24x7 shift-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure tomainframe tools and utilities.
- Basic understanding ofJCL (Job Control Language).
- Experience supportingdata center operations.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such asChronos.
- Experience using collaboration tools likeZoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and escalate issues appropriately.
