Systems Administrator II

Overview

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure across data center and cloud environments. This role supports critical server platforms, virtualization, storage, backup, and monitoring systems to ensure infrastructure availability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on IT experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support infrastructure operations and implementation projects.

Duties

• Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise infrastructure systems across data center and cloud environments.

• Support server platforms, virtualization infrastructure, storage systems, and backup solutions.

• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to identify and resolve potential issues.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and system issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.

• Maintain and optimize enterprise monitoring tools and core infrastructure services.

• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, implementations, migrations, and other technical projects.

• Follow established security, maintenance, and operational procedures to ensure reliable system performance.

• Document system configurations, troubleshooting activities, and infrastructure changes.

Required Skills

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in an IT role.

• Demonstrated success maintaining and supporting IT systems.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to monitor system performance, diagnose technical issues, and support reliable infrastructure operations.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience administering enterprise server platforms and virtualization environments.

• Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and backup and recovery solutions.

• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and performance optimization tools.

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure and multi-data-center environments.

• Experience supporting infrastructure implementations, upgrades, and migrations.

• Knowledge of infrastructure security practices and operational documentation.
