0Position Summary:
Responsible for operation of the cable and/or rope tows associated with the Sylvan Winter Recreation Area. Maintains safe operation through observation of the tow line in motion, enforcing loading and unloading rules, reporting incidents of injury, maintaining clean walkways and doorways around the chalet and all appropriate outbuildings and cleaning the chalet. Responds to inquiries from the public. Season dates are variable, although typically December through March.

Examples of Work Performed:
The following duties are typical of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
- Maintain the safe operation of all cable and rope tows by enforcing loading and unloading procedures.
- Inspect all lines, hooks, machinery, loading and unloading areas and general snow conditions prior to and throughout the shift.
- Prepare all required inspection and operating forms and logs.
- Assist, as needed, to prepare all required reports on incidents, including patron injury or discipline.
- Report requests for repairs, supplies, and routine or emergency maintenance to the Chalet Manager.
- Cooperate with volunteer groups to ensure the successful completion of special events and programs on site.
- Clean and re-stock supplies and fireplace wood as needed inside the Chalet and perform manual snow removal, as needed, around the chalet and operational buildings
- Report any citizen concerns and complaints to the Chalet Manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to successfully operate all machinery associated with the tow operation, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.Â

- Skill in the safe use of motorized equipment.
- Ability to communicate in a helpful, kind, and respectful manner and enforce rules firmly and fairly to ensure the safety of all customers.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to be thorough in completing work tasks to ensure a safe experience on the tubing runs.Â
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety rules.

Compensation:
Starting hourly rate  is $14.50 year one, $14.75 year two, and $15.00 year three. No benefits are provided for these seasonal positions.

High Physical Requirements - Job requires significant physical exertion, with tasks that involve more active movement. This job may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in manual labor.
