What to Expect
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing for interconnect commodities, including high speed data connectors and related electromechanical components in a fast-paced manufacturing and technology environment. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience in electronics/electromechanical commodities and excels at collaborating with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, building strong supplier relationships, performing detailed cost modeling, and negotiating favorable purchase agreements that deliver value and mitigate risk. We’d prefer to have candidates who have familiarity with manufacturing methods used to scale electromechanical components, with knowledge of wiring harnesses, connectors, and PCBA.What You’ll Do
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for electronics and electromechanical componentsÂ
- Partner closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to deeply understand technical requirements and translate them into effective sourcing strategiesÂ
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance management and continuous improvement programsÂ
- Conduct detailed cost modeling and analysis to identify savings opportunities and support fact-based negotiationsÂ
- Negotiate and manage purchase agreements, supply contracts, and long-term pricing arrangementsÂ
- Identify and qualify new suppliers while maintaining a robust and resilient supply baseÂ
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, specifically with electronics and electromechanical components in a manufacturing or technology environmentÂ
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and establish effective sourcing strategiesÂ
- Strong experience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performanceÂ
- Solid background in cost modeling and financial analysisÂ
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successfully negotiating purchase agreements and contractsÂ
- Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement.
