The internship assignment :

We are looking for an intern to support our responsible sourcing efforts in the battery supply chain as we accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Main projects will focus on  assessing operational health and safety risk and costs of decarbonisation projects throughout the battery supply chain, covering assets from mine to final batteries. The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing sustainability in battery and critical mineral supply chains, and excels in a dynamic environment that allows them to independently develop innovative approaches. In-person presence is a non-negotiable requirement of this role. The role is in Tesla’s Battery Responsible Sourcing (RS) team, which is part of the Battery Cell Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization that includes commercial procurement and supplier industrialization engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Basic design calculations for renewable energy projects 

• Support with supply chain decarbonization business case development 

• Benchmarking of best practices on supply chain safety data collection and processing 

• Collect, analyze and report on supply chain data and supplier performance 

• Preparation of statistics and templates for ongoing use 

• Learn how to maintain day-to-day stakeholder relationships 
  

What You’ll Bring

• Preferably studying or experienced in a relevant field of resource engineering, sustainability or decarbonization 

• Understanding of battery value chain, from mine to final product 

• Basic knowledge of financial modelling 

• Good knowledge in the use of common MS Office applications, and development of versatile templates 

• Ability to analyze problems and find solutions in a structured manner 

• Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented 

• Work in a team as well as in an organized and independent manner
