Pay Range: $30 - $36/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift:Monday - Friday Second shift, 7:00 PM – 4:00PM .
- Manage supplier performance and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Resolve supplier technical and quality issues to maintain production continuity.
- Lead supplier performance improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier audits to verify product conformity and process compliance.
- Monitor key supplier quality KPIs includingDPPM, quality complaints, and On-Time Ship (OTS).
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities with suppliers and internal teams.
- Utilize8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other quality problem-solving methodologies.
- Oversee supplier containment actions to minimize the impact of quality issues.
- Document investigations, dispositions, corrective actions, and quality complaint resolutions.
- Establish and support short- and long-term supplier quality goals.
- Partner with plant quality, operations, engineering, manufacturing engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Present technical quality issues and corrective actions to suppliers and management.
- Support process standardization, waste elimination, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvement.
- Key Skills;"Supplier Quality Engineer", " GD&T", " MSA", " Automotive", " 8D", " Root Cause Analysis", " Supplier Audits", " DPPM".
- Bachelor’s degree inengineering or a related field; Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- 1–3 years of relevant quality engineering experience.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, particularlymachining and/or forging.
- Strong knowledge ofGD&T and MSA.
- Experience with quality tools such as:
- 8D
- 5-Why
- Fishbone
- Root Cause Analysis
- Lean methodologies
- AIAG quality standards
- Ability to understand metallurgical requirements and interpret technical reports.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to suppliers and management.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to quality and corrective action.
- Experience withSPC (Statistical Process Control).
- Project management experience.
- Experience withengine, axle, or transmission components.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as:
- Machining
- Casting
- Injection molding
- Stamping
- Forging
- Experience managing quality withglobal suppliers.
- Experience working across different regions and cultures.
- Foreign language skills are a plus.
- Travel:
- Approximately 30–50% travel may be required.
- Travel is primarily throughout the U.S. Midwest, East Coast, and Mexico, with potential international travel to supplier locations in India, China, Europe, and Turkey depending on supplier quality issues.
