Job Description
As a Supervisory Customer Experience Specialist in Firearms/Sporting Goods, you are responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience in the Firearms/Sporting Goods departments. You will support a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensure an extraordinary shopping experience for our customers. You'll know which products will meet customer's needs and stay up to date on product knowledge. You will organize and maintain firearms in all locations within the store to include the Firearms Counter and Firearms Vault. You will ensure that 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately as well receive incoming firearms using logbooks and electronic systems. With your knowledge and helpful suggestions, customers will continue to shop the Exchange.We offer flexible scheduling, comprehensive medical, dental, life and disability insurance, paid time off, shift differential/holiday pay, and a traditional pension and 401K plan to qualifying associates. - Complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in appropriate conversation
Job Qualifications
- Candidates must be at least21 to be considered for the position.
- All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use (including marijuana) prior to appointment, as well as random drug screening.
- Appointment to this position will be contingent upon the successful completion of a favorable background check, to include a Tier 1 (NACI) Federal investigation.
- Previous experience with Inventory Control procedures preferred.
- Prior knowledge and experience with firearms preferred.
- Understanding of ATF laws and regulations.
- Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Able to think quickly on the spot to answer customer questions.
- Able to take initiative.
- Able to share brand knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the store, as needed
- Must possess a welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other team members

Completion of High school or the equivalent. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records is required. Must pass a background check and comply with all legal requirements for firearms sales. Position is subject to random drug testing.If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.

Major Duties
Provide high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service. Greet each customer upon contact, demonstrates product knowledge, assesses their needs, suggest alternative options, and provide solution resolution. Keep their needs foremost and creates a welcoming environment.Lead and motivate associates using effective communication skills. Train and mentor team members to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. Maintain employee communication folders, including records of communication, time and attendance, and job descriptions. Provide feedback on performance standards.
Operate a cash register or other sales related equipment to enter new accounts, sales related equipment, sales transactions, refunds, or other related transactions. Verifies and accepts multiple tenders for payment and makes change with accuracy and zero variance tolerance.
Strictly adhere to all FFL regulations and state laws governing the sale of firearms. Ensure all necessary documentation (paperwork, data entry, etc.) is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify that all customer information and transaction details are 100% accurate to prevent any compliance issues and ensure a smooth transaction process.
Monitor and manage stock levels, assist in inventory counts, and report any discrepancies to management. May assist in arranging space on sales floor, setting up promotional fixtures, displays, and signage.
Promote safe handling and storage practices of firearms and educate customers on responsible firearm ownership. Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed.
Communicate and promote the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers to drive sales growth.
