Supervises a team that performs stability assessments in the operations planning horizon, including Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA) and Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) / Interconnection Reliability Operating Limit (IROL) analysis, to ensure continuing reliable operation of the ERCOT electric power grid in compliance with NERC Reliability Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Guides. Directs the team's application and continuous improvement of the SOL/IROL Methodology and oversees the full GTC lifecycle, including leadership of GTC Initiatives to improve constraint modeling and process efficiency. Provides engineering analysis and support to Operations related to outages. Coordinates with technical teams and other ERCOT staff to keep operations procedures current and work with Market Participants to support reliable operation of the ERCOT Grid. Attends Market, Technical, and Industry meetings as required.

JOB DUTIES
- Schedules work for employees and provides on-the-job training as needed.
- Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring, including performance appraisals and other management responsibilities.
- Leads a team to perform Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA) studies.
- Leads a team to support Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs) and associated Interconnection Reliability Operating Limits (IROLs), communicating with Market Participants and Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) as required by ERCOT Protocols and Guides and NERC Standards.
- Directs the team's application of NERC Standard FAC-014 (Establishing and Communicating System Operating Limits) in the determination of System Operating Limits (SOLs) and IROLs.
- Oversees the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SOL/IROL Methodology, ensuring consistency with NERC Reliability Standards and ERCOT Protocols.
- Leads process improvement initiatives to improve stability constraint modeling, monitoring, and the overall GTC lifecycle process.
- Leads a team to support operations stability assessment related to outage coordination.
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for ERCOT Guides and Protocols and NERC Standards related to Operations Stability.
- Coordinates with other ERCOT teams and Market Participants to improve dynamic models and the interconnection process.
- Provides operations analysis and reports, both written and oral.
- Provides operations engineering support for other ERCOT support personnel as required.
- Formulates recommendations for changes to ERCOT Protocols and Guides.
- Supports ERCOT by working with various ERCOT subcommittees, working groups, and task forces.
- Represents ERCOT on ERCOT and industry committees, subcommittees, working groups, and task forces as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Typically requires minimum 5 years of work experience in system operations, planning, interconnection, transmission planning/analysis, grid operations, network modeling, or a related field in excess of degree requirements

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Prefer prior experience supervising or leading a team or projects
- Experience with PSSE and/or PSCAD
- Experience with dynamic stability analysis

CERTIFICATION
- PE Professional Engineer (Preferred)

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field (Preferred)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

WORK LOCATION – Taylor, TX:
- Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at a minimum of 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence. Â
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
