Job Title: Imaging Tech Aide
Department: Imaging
Schedule: Per diem
Essential Jobfunctions:
- Answersandplacescalls;takesandrelaysmessages;handlesrequests/problemsandreferstoappropriate staff; demonstrates proper telephone etiquette.
- Relatestoallpatientsinapleasantandprofessionalmanner.
- Assesses/Screenspatientsforpotentialriskfactors.
- Preparespatientforproceduresprovidinginstructionstoobtaindesiredresults,gaincooperationand minimize anxiety.
- Removespatientfromtheexamroomandpreparesfornextprocedure.
- Followsappropriatedepartmentalprotocolforproceduresunlessspecifiedotherwisebythe Radiologist.
- Obtainsanddocumentsthepatienthistoryandpertinentinformation.
- Ensuresproperidentificationofpatientsandprovidesforpatientprivacy.
- Distributes radiology film requests as necessary and obtains the signature of the authorized person to whom films/cds are released, as required by HIPAA.
- Reviewradiologyordersforcompleteness/errors/discrepanciesandreconcilediscrepancieswiththe physician’s office prior to completion.
- DemonstratesproficiencyintheAthenaPracticeManagementSystem.
- Isknowledgeableofthelocationofemergencyequipmentandmedicationstoassistinthetreatment of contrast reactions and other emergencies.
- Adherestoinfectioncontrolstandardsspecifictopatientcare.
- Plansdeliveryofcareaccordingtopatientactivityandstaffcompetencies.
- VerifiesexamsinthePACSsystem.
- PrintsandcopiesstudiesfromthePACSsystem.
- Callsotherfacilitiestorequestforpriorstudies.
- ReportsanyunusualcircumstancesorproblemstoChiefTechforproperaction.
- Exercisesproperprecautionsto ensurethesafetyofpatients,thegeneralpublic,staff,andselfwhile performing duties.

- Maintainsaconsistentlevelofproductivity.
- Promotesandmaintainsasafe,cleanandorderlyworkenvironment
- Consultsandcommunicateswithotherdepartmentsinaprofessionalmanner
- Demonstratesunderstandingofsafety,health,andmoraleneedsofcustomersandco-workers.
- DemonstratesawarenessofMRIsafetyandproceduresforselfandothers.
- Other job duties as required.
Physical JobRequirements:
- Pushing and pulling, taking frequency and weight intoconsideration.
- Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, taking frequency and weight intoconsideration.
- Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.
- Dexterity of hands andfingers.
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending,walking).
Education, Certification, Computer and TrainingRequirements:
- High School Graduate/GEDrequired.
- 0–1-year experience required. 2-4 yearspreferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writingrequired.
- Strong customer service and organizational skillsrequired.
- Working knowledge and expertise in MS Word and MS Excel (or equivalent spreadsheet application) preferred. Experience in computerized materiel management systems preferred.
- Ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skillsrequired.
- Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
- Experience with imaging, patient care, and filming equipmentpreferred.
- Experience with Power injectors and storage devicespreferred.
- Experience with Teleradiology system/PACS Systempreferred.
Travel:
- Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed
The following outlines the requirements for per diem technologists:
- Per diem Technologists will typically be needed for 4 shifts within a 6-week scheduling grid.
- 2 or more of those shifts will occur during the weekend.
- Must work at least one Holiday per year.
- Locations are subject to change.
- Location preference will be taken into consideration; however, technologists will be scheduled according to staffing needs.
- Once shifts are accepted and assigned, it becomes the responsibility of technologist to get coverage, if adequate notice is not given.
- All shift trades or drop requests are subject to manager approval.
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
