Construction Quality Program Manager

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a Program Manager, you will work directly with our portfolio of project management consultants, general contractors, electrical/mechanical trades organizations, key integrators and manufacturers, quality and commissioning agents to ensure the successful implementation of the construction quality program and reduce costs of poor quality in our construction projects.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience managing technical, multi-disciplinary programs or capital construction projects from planning to handover.
• Experience overseeing construction quality and commissioning (QCx) in data centers or technology mission-critical facilities.
• Experience managing general contractors, specialized trade subcontractors (electrical, mechanical, controls), and third-party commissioning agents.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing construction projects in an international or regional setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• Active professional commissioning or project management certification, such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCxP), Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), or PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP).
• Direct experience utilizing enterprise construction management and commissioning software (e.g., Autodesk BIM 360 / Construction Cloud, Procore, CxAlloy, or Latista).
• Deep technical knowledge of data center electrical, mechanical, and controls equipment, combined with continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean Construction, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA).
• Familiarity with European and Nordic construction regulations, environmental standards, and local contractor ecosystems in hyperscale data center builds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee the implementation of all construction quality and commissioning processes by our project management consultants, general contractors, electrical/mechanical trades, quality and commissioning agents.
• Report the quality and commissioning status for the full life cycle of the construction project.
• Identify risks to a project and developing mitigation strategies with the project team.
• Work and collaborate on regional or global initiatives to improve the Construction Quality Program.
