Subject Matter Expert II (Hybrid)
Location: Beltsville, MD
Salary Range:$80,000 - $85,000 annually
Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking aSubject Matter Expert II to support a federal records and information management project located in Beltsville, MD.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in records and information management, lifecycle records management, records scheduling, and information governance. This individual will be a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
This is ahybrid position. Candidates are expected to work onsite in Beltsville, MD, two days per week, participate in a rotating Friday onsite schedule with the project team, and work remotely on the remaining days.
The objective of this effort is to support records and information management operations across the full lifecycle of Federal records. This includes conducting records inventories, developing file plans (taxonomies) and records control schedules, implementing records management best practices, and supporting compliance with Federal records management requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in records and information management.
- Conduct records inventories and assessments.
- Develop and maintain file plans (taxonomies) and records control schedules.
- Provide expertise across all phases of lifecycle records management, including records creation, maintenance, retention, and disposition.
- Develop records management procedures, plans, and guidance documentation.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance, efficiency, and data quality.
- Advise on electronic recordkeeping practices, including email management, digital imaging, cloud storage, and social media.
- Coordinate project activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Prepare reports, analyses, and other required contractual deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of all phases of lifecycle records management.
- Experience conducting records inventories, developing file plans (taxonomies), and drafting records control schedules.
- Detailed knowledge of Federal records management requirements and practices.
- Detailed knowledge of electronic recordkeeping practices, including email management, digital imaging, cloud storage, and social media.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Education and Experience
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- Master's degree or higher in Records and Information Management or a related field andfive (5) years of professional records management experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in Records and Information Management or a related field andten (10) years of professional records management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Records Management is preferred and considered a strength.
- Experience supporting Federal records management programs.
- Experience developing records management policies, procedures, and guidance documentation.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and education.
