The Position
The Student Success Coordinator works alongside the Assistant Director to provide direct support to Explore@RC students and carry out established student programming. The position focuses on student engagement, communication, events, and helping students navigate the expectations and resources of a college environment. Approximately 10–20% of the position supports students enrolled in online programs through RC-RV.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support
- Provide direct, day-to-day support to Explore@RC students.
- Build relationships with students and serve as an accessible point of contact.
- Help students navigate college expectations, resources, and processes.
- Provide follow-up and academic assistance based on student needs.
- Connect students with appropriate faculty, staff, and College resources.
- Communicate student concerns requiring additional attention to the Assistant Director.
- Transport students in the Explore van as needed for events, or school pickup and drop off.
Student Engagement & Events
- Coordinate Explore@RC student events and activities alongside the Assistant Director.
- Support orientation, student and family events, Presentations of Learning, student-led conferences, career-connected activities, and other established programming.
- Support the student mentor program and other student engagement activities.
- Coordinate student participation and communication related to events.
Communication, Coordination & Leadership
- Maintain communication with students and families regarding schedules, activities, opportunities, and expectations.
- Coordinate with faculty, counselors, partner schools, and College offices regarding student needs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to student participation and support.
- Refer matters requiring program-level decisions to the Assistant Director.
RC-RV Online Student Support — 10–20%
- Provide direct support to students enrolled in RC-RV online programs.
- Assist students with program expectations, processes, schedules, and available resources.
- Provide routine communication and follow-up to support student engagement and persistence.
- Connect students with appropriate faculty, staff, technical assistance, or College resources.
- Support established onboarding and orientation activities for online students.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in education.
- Experience working with high school or college students in an academic setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive and appropriate relationships with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow established program processes.
- Experience with dual enrollment, higher education, or online education preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidential student information.
