Position Title:Student Pastor                                                               Campus: GlendaleReports to:Glendale Campus Pastor                                     Status:Full-Time, Exempt    Position Summary: The Student Pastor will create an exciting and engaging environment that leads students to discover and fully own faith in Jesus, reaching and engaging disconnected students in the community. This role works closely with the Lead Student Pastor to recruit, develop, and equip leaders. The Student Pastor also partners with the Campus Pastor and campus team to support and implement the campus vision and strategy, ensuring Student Ministry aligns with the overall mission and ministry of the church.  This individual must fit within our collaborative culture and build teams that represents the campus and the community in areas of gender, ethnicity, and age.  This position moves forward the mission and values of Central Christian Church. The mission of Central is to lead people to discover and fully own their faith in Jesus. Our church values are Jesus First, People Always, and Made for More. You will also be expected to immerse yourself in our staff leadership culture of Jesus First, Same Team, Make It Better, Feedback Matters, Give It Away, and Healthy Hustle.   • Create a safe and engaging environment that attracts students
  • Connect students to the Central Student Ministry
  • Develop students for the next step in their faith
  • Participate as a Student Team Member
  • Manage communication between Student Team and Campus Pastor
  • Provide and implement strategic leadership and initiatives for student ministry
  • Develop and adhere to safety procedures, in cooperation with Campus and Leadership teams
  • Develop, maintain, and grow partnerships with families, school administrators, and organizations
  • Support the Campus Pastor in his/her leadership of the campus by:
    • Working in the First Impressions and Groups ministries, as needed
    • Handling benevolence requests
    • Support community outreach efforts
    • Act as a back up for Campus Pastor in his or her absence
  • Other duties as assigned
Leadership Development
  • Recruit, develop and empower adult leaders to serve within the ministry
  • Recruit, develop and empower students to serve in other ministries
  • Attend all church wide/campus specific events
  • Attend weekly team meetings in student ministries 
  • Attend Campus Lead Team meetings as required
  • Pastor-on-Call Rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • Student ministry experience
  • Multi-site church experience
  • Familiar with the popular culture of students
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Self-motivated

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up totwenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
