Engineering Services & Products Company seeks a Structural Engineer II in Dyersville, IA to independently coordinate and perform structural steel design for buildings and foundation elements. Candidate must be able to function as part of an engineering team as well as work closely with and advise design staff. Must have sufficient understanding of project execution and design engineering to thoroughly define project scope and determine budget estimations for the civil/structural portion of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and validate advanced structural and component-level calculations and analyses (e.g., finite element, load path, connection, fatigue, and reliability analysis).
- Develop engineering specifications and design criteria applying IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes and standards.
- Review structural calculations, models, and drawings for technical accuracy and code compliance, and mentor junior engineers and interns.
- Collaborate with manufacturing on design-for-fabrication.
- Perform shallow and deep foundation and masonry design.
- Serve as technical point of contact on bid review and engineering questions from sales, customers, building officials, and R&D, and support new-product development.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with RISA-3D, RAM Advanse/Elements, CASTA, MBS or similar Structural Engineering software a plus
- Experience mentoring ETIs
- Specialization in structural building design is desired. Proficient in AISC and AISI material specifications, ASCE 7 and IBC
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude, willing and able to research and learn complex topics with minimal guidance
- Review and check structural drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple activities/projects
- Must have strong communication skillsÂ
- Experience with project scheduling and management of multiple projects
- Ability to work effectively in teams or alone
- Able to maintain a results-oriented demeanor in a fast-paced environment

Telecommuting/remote work permitted from various worksites throughout the United States after an initial period of at least 6 months at the primary worksite and with supervisor approval and frequent onsite visits.

Education and/or Experience:
Â
Requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Language Skills:
Â
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Computer Skills:Â
Â
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Ability to use other manufacturing software.

Mathematical Skills:
Â
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:Â

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to use sound judgement with good mechanical aptitude and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
