Full-Time, Variable Shift

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Days and hours may change depending on department needs, with schedules set every 4 weeks.

Location: Bend, OR and Redmond, OR as needed.

Non-Certified Pay Range: $22.30 - $30.11
Certified Pay Range: $27.74 - $41.61

Evening Shift Differential - $2.50 / hr
Night Shift Differential - $5.50 / hr
Weekend Differential - $2.00 / hr

Relocation: This role offers in-state or out-of-state relocation assistance for Certified candidates with one year of relevant experience who have not worked at St. Charles Health System in the last year.

DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: Sterile Processing is responsible for cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments for all Operating Room procedures.


POSITION OVERVIEW:TheSterile Processing Technician at St. Charles Health Systems responsible for assembling case carts for surgeries, as well as cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing equipment and instruments used within the hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician ensures that instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated for safe handling. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Coordinates, assembles and disassembles, and distributes supplies for surgical cases


Cleans, decontaminates, and sterilizes instruments and supplies


Responsible for case cart and procedure preparation


Operates various sterilization equipment


Re-stocks department inventory and ensures instruments are stored in the proper location


Cleans and maintains department equipment


Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects

EDUCATION:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required:Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or SPD Technician certification from CBSPD within 18 months of hire.

Preferred:Experience in sterile processing, health care materials management, operating room, and/or patient care.         


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
