Job Summary:
TheStaff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will support the architecture, security, reliability, and maintenance of production infrastructure for regulated digital health and medical software platforms. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, scalability, operational excellence, and compliance withFDA GxP, HITRUST, and healthcare data protection standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise incloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, observability, incident response, and reliability engineering. Experience supporting regulated healthcare or medical device environments is essential, with a strong focus on audit readiness, security, and patient data protection.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintainCI/CD pipelines with automated and auditable deployment processes.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code usingTerraform, Helm, and Ansible, embedding GxP and HITRUST controls into reusable modules.
  • Architect and maintain highly available, scalable, and compliant infrastructure usingKubernetes, Docker, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Define and improve reliability metrics, includingSLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, infrastructure optimization, and resource utilization initiatives.
  • Manage the full incident lifecycle, including detection, triage, resolution, postmortems, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks covering technical, security, and regulatory escalation procedures.
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions usingDatadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.
  • Manage SIEM and security monitoring tools such asSplunk, Datadog Security, and Elastic Security for threat detection, log aggregation, and audit support.
  • Collaborate with security, quality assurance, engineering, and regulatory teams to investigate and resolve production incidents.
  • Ensure logging, auditing, data retention, traceability, and privacy safeguards meetFDA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and applicable healthcare requirements.
  • Troubleshoot cloud and network issues while ensuring secure handling ofprotected health information (PHI) and medical device data.
  • Maintain clear infrastructure documentation to support knowledge transfer, compliance reviews, and external audits.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps, preferably within healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industries.
  • Strong expertise inKubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Direct experience supporting systems subject toFDA GxP and HITRUST compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare security and compliance frameworks, includingHIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and production infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation usingPython, Bash, or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, and SIEM platforms in regulated environments.
  • Strong incident response, troubleshooting, reliability engineering, and audit documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience deploying and supportingmedical device software under FDA regulations.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, software validation procedures, and documentation for regulatory audits or FDA submissions.
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance automation.
  • Certifications in cloud security, DevOps, or healthcare compliance, such asHITRUST or AWS Security certifications.
  • Experience implementing reusable infrastructure modules with embedded security and compliance controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record maintaining secure, highly available production systems in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of reliability metrics, incident management, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to innovate and improve infrastructure while maintaining strict regulatory and patient data protection requirements.
