In your role as a Staff Housing Coordinator, at The North West Company (NWC), you will provide overall assistance to the Housing Manager and be accountable for corporately owned homes, buildings, and equipment, and some small construction & renovation projects. If you have experience in maintaining fixed asset inventories and tracking repair costs through the Corporate Asset Management System; this opportunity is for you!

Your Role:
 
  • Assist with organizing maintenance processes and programs for all corporate housing units that have been assigned to you;
  • Order and facilities delivery of small wares and other items that are part of our corporate housing catalogue;
  • Receive ticket requests from the Store Connect software and respond to store requests for service;
  • Create work orders for service and repair in the Office Trax software and manage the work order until successful completion;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, flights, accommodation, rides, etc. for contractors through our corporate travel agency when required;
  • Provide regular updates to the residents regarding work order progress, expected dates of material delivery and anticipated timelines for contractors to arrive at the home;
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service requests.
  • Obtain quotes for maintenance and repair with contractors to resolve issues;
  • Once approved, coordinate facility related repairs under the guidance of the Facility Manager;
  • Suggest capital expenditures to the Housing Manager;
  • Assist with ongoing fixed asset inventories and associated records;
  • Maintain all asset records through a web-based Asset Management system (office Trax);
  • Assist in administration of environmental and emergency response programs;
  • Prepare budgets for repairs and maintenance for pre-approval by the Housing Manager
 


Desired Skills & Experience:
 
  • A minimum of two years’ experience or a combination of education and experience in Property Management;
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration;
  • BOMA Designation relating to Property or Facilities Management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide coverage for other regions or facilities when required;
  • An understanding of residential building equipment (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical);
  • An understanding of building codes and regulations is an asset;
  • Ability to work with and maintain a working relationship with regulators;
  • Assist in the creation of budgets;
  • Ability in purchasing materials along with arranging global logistics;
  • Must be highly motivated with proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French is desired;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once while adhering to strict schedule deadlines;
