Mechanical Engineer - HVAC/Plumbing Engineer - Federal
Onsite- building located at Hill Airforce Base in Utah

- Contract Position - not temp to hire
- Per diem is offered for meals, hotel and rental car
- 1 or 2 trips home (short trips, along with 2 weeks virtual offered). Will be sitting onsite the entire project duration.
This is not a design role. It involves supporting our government client from their perspective. Work would involve performing design submittal reviews, attendance of review conferences, client coordination, and engineering support during construction. This opportunity involves sitting on the client side of a design, taking a different perspective, and supporting on the government side.
This is a project-related, field-based role stationed at Hill AFB.
Seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on-site design review support for a variety of buildings in the Federal market sector. This position is for a design engineer with a background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design. Building types may include administration/office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses, as well as maintenance facilities. The candidate should have leadership experience, good communication skills, and the ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for executing and reviewing mechanical designs for new and existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team, including drawings, specifications, and submittal reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Create and maintain project schedules for small to mid-size projects.
- Review HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings for accuracy, clarity, coordination, codes, and standards.
- Actively coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
- Understand construction phase services (review of submittals, responses to RFIs).
- Able to present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end users.
Skills
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Federal industry experience and familiarity with government requirements (i.e., UFCs, MIL-STDs, UFGS)
- Security Clearance (SECRET) or ability to obtain one
- Knowledge of building mechanical codes
- Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and other related markets
- Knowledgeable in sustainable design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- US citizen
- Must be able to complete the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria
