Job Summary
The entry-level Staff Accountant supports the mission of the organization by performing daily accounting activities, maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, contributing to financial analysis, participating in the annual budget preparation, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with monthly and annual financial closing processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as assigned
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Support and participate in all facets of the budget process
- Track project level expenses and revenue and prepare and submit reports to funders
- Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Review and reconcile payroll transactions
- Support account analysis, variance reporting and perform advanced financial analytics
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Assist with audits by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation
- Participate in financial reporting and special projects as needed
- Research, translate and understand related compliance requirements
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
- Assist with cash management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- Understanding of GAAP
- Experience in Microsoft Excel
- Advanced Informatics and technical skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Exposure to ERP or accounting software preferred but not required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- CPA Eligible preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- This position is on-site at DAP Health admin location with the possibility of hybrid or remote work
- This job operates in an office setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talkingÂ
- Ability to lift up to 24 pounds
