St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and experiencedDietary Cook to join our team. The Dietary Cook will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while following established menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.

• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary requirements.

• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure food is served at the proper temperature.

• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.

• Monitor food inventory and notify the Dietary Supervisor of needed supplies.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.

• Assist with meal service and other dietary duties as needed.

• Follow all facility policies and applicable healthcare and food service regulations.

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to ensure excellent resident service.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.

• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and special dietary instructions.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organization.

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.

• Food Handler's certification as required by applicable regulations.
