Discipline Description

Contractor Assurance personnel provide oversight for the various contractor assurance-related activities and programs, including Causal Analysis and conduct of Management Review Boards for all major projects and operating facilities. They also serve as Subject Matter Experts to programs such as Occurrence Reporting (ORPS), Lessons Learned, Self-Assessments, Corrective Actions, Price-Anderson Amendment Act (PAAA), Effectiveness Reviews, Management Field Operations, and coordinate DOE Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for the company. Contractor Assurance also leads the Performance Analysis efforts for the company and owns the Issues Management system and Scorecard platforms for the site as well as provides the Site Statistician function for the company.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The CAS (Contractor Assurance System) and Assessments Manager is responsible for leading a team of SRTE assessors and issue analysts and oversees the implementation of the SRTE Contractor Assurance System program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise and provide guidance to SRTE assessors and issue analysts.
• Ensure the effective implementation and operation of the Contractor Assurance System in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Review/approve changes in CAS procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
• Monitor CAS performance and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of independent assessments, audits, and evaluations.
• Ensure assessments are conducted in a systematic, documented manner, and that findings are accurately reported.
• Ensure development of assessment schedules, scope, and criteria based on organizational risk and compliance needs.
• Ensure issues are documented, tracked, and managed through to resolution.
• Facilitate root cause analyses and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Compile and present assessment and issue management reports to senior management.
• Analyze performance trends, identify areas for improvement, and recommend actionable solutions.
• Provide training and mentorship on CAS procedures, assessment methodologies, and issue management processes.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with other departments, management, senior leadership, Site level CAS and quality assurance personnel, and the NNSA customer to ensure alignment of objectives and practices.
• Engage with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders as needed.
• Promote awareness of program requirements and improvements from NNSA and complex-level working groups.

Required Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

• Experience in quality assurance, assessments, auditing, issue management.
• Experience with implementation of government policies and orders (e.g. DOE O 414.1E, ISO 9001, NNSA SD 226.1D, etc.)

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
