What to Expect
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to manage reliability modeling and test programs. Responsibilities include connecting all stakeholders, managing priorities/expectations, and feeding back test results and concerns to create compelling and reliable Energy Products. You will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and the validation strategy to minimize new product risks while accelerating the development process. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risk, and develop recovery plans in the event of a project slip. The Energy & Charging Reliability team is a cross-functional, program and systems organization. It encompasses Power Electronics, Battery, and Thermal/Mechanical systems verification and validation through characterization and accelerated life testing of Tesla’s Energy products.
What You’ll Do
- Own the scope, schedule, implementation and tracking of design reliability validation test projects and results from start to finishÂ
- Set goals, track deliverables, manage expectations, identify risk, and drive mitigations across all stages of the projectÂ
- Create, maintain, communicate, and present schedules for reliability engineering projects to the engineering leadership teamÂ
- Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacksÂ
- Spearhead design reliability risk burndown by programmatically managing Design FMEAsÂ
- Assist with the prioritization of the engineering team project work based on risk, resources, and paybackÂ
- Work with Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, Supply Chain, and the engineering leadership team to gather new requirements scope and timelines and escalate issues to ensure prompt resolutionÂ
- Aid in driving conversations and issues to closure, defining next steps, and ensuring follow-ups are ownedÂ
- Influence without reporting structure and operate with a high degree of autonomyÂ
- Maximize productivity in a constantly changing environment and shifting priorities
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing changeÂ
- Demonstrated experience in the management of engineering projects for mass-produced products requiredÂ
- Demonstrated understanding of product design cycleÂ
- Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedulesÂ
- Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to product reliability and risk managementÂ
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain personnelÂ
- Desired: Experience scaling systems to hundreds of thousands and millions of users

Expected Compensation$112,000 - $217,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
