As part of Tesla's mission, Tesla is leveraging its hardware, firmware, and manufacturing expertise to design and deploy next-generation data center infrastructure.Â
Tesla is seeking a Sr. System Integration Engineer to own system bring-up, integration, and validation of data center platforms. You will lead hardware, firmware, and software integration, build custom test infrastructure, and drive system-level validation to ensure our data center products meet the highest performance, reliability, and safety standards.Â
What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end system bring-up, validation strategy definition and execution, and characterization of high-performance data center platforms comprising of power electronics, thermal systems, compute, and networking subsystemsÂ
- Design custom sub-system level test infrastructure to break down system-level validation into targeted, repeatable tests across electrical, thermal, and functional domainsÂ
- Debug and resolve hardware, firmware, and software integration issues across complex, high-power systemsÂ
- Develop and maintain regression test suites to validate system functionalitiesÂ
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, firmware, and electrical engineering teams to ensure performance, reliability, and safety requirements are metÂ
- Drive continuous improvement in design and performance by providing data-driven feedback to design ownersÂ
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experienceÂ
- 4+ years of experience in hardware, firmware, and software integration and validation, or electrical system/electronics design and debuggingÂ
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and thermal management systems (air/liquid cooling, heat exchangers)Â
- Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in complex high-density systemsÂ
- Familiarity with networking protocolsÂ
- Proficiency with Python for test automation and data analysisÂ
- Proficiency with EE lab tools (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, thermal measurement equipment, electronic loads)Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systemsÂ
- Effective communicator with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teamsÂ
- Preferred:Â Experience with high-power (50kW+) or high-voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) systems and data center infrastructure including power distribution, cooling systems, and rack-level architecture
