Sr Software Engineer I

• As a Software Engineer in the Citizen Development & AI at Disney Enterprise Tech Collaboration Experiences, you are responsible to drive world-class engineering and citizen development practices that empower business users to build intelligent applications using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Azure AI.
• You’ll partner across technology, product management, and business teams to enable scalable, secure, and transformative AI-powered solutions that enhance collaboration and productivity across the enterprise.

• Design, code and debug scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for AI-driven platforms.
• Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals and technical standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, technical program managers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to integrate architecture into product roadmaps.
• Hands on coding at a component level and conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices for code commits
• Perform Unit tests on code written and be able to debug and troubleshoot to resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities.
• Champion agile practices, including MVP and iterative development approaches.
• Promote transparency, predictability, and collaboration across engineering teams.
• Advocate for organization-wide best practices in ideation, delivery, and customer engagement.
• Model inclusive behaviors and company cultural attributes.
• Exercise sound judgment when navigating risks, blockers, or trade-offs.
• Engineer and implement end-to-end solutions using Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Azure AI, integrating with SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and enterprise systems via available connectors or custom development.
• Develop and deploy custom Copilot agents and AI workflows to automate business processes and enhance productivity for citizen developers and business users.
• Evaluate, optimize, and document AI solutions for performance, cost efficiency, and user experience.

Technical Enablement & Community Support

• Participate in technical workshops, training sessions, and hackathons to enable citizen developers and promote AI literacy across the organization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and identify solution pathways that drive enterprise transformation.
• Support business stakeholders and development community, answering questions, offering guiding and researching solutions.

Software Development Lifecycle

• Design, code, test, document, and maintain software components and scripts for intelligent applications and integration workflows.
• Follow standard design patterns and approaches for system and software application development.
• Participate in requirements definition, systems integration, and build processes for AI-driven solutions.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and resolve issues as part of continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Solutions Architects, engineering leaders, and technical product project managers to ensure alignment of technical deliverables with organizational objectives.
• Independently resolve conflicts, prioritize and manage workload, balancing daily tasks and long-term projects.
• Seek guidance and approvals for major project decisions, complete individual tasks with minimal supervision.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on AI, automation, or low-code platforms.
• Hands on coding is required for at least 60% of the time using programming languages like Python, React, Javascript, etc.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Azure AI services.
• Strong understanding of agent development, orchestration models, and integration with Microsoft Graph and external connectors.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages (Python, JavaScript,) and automation skillset.
• Experience with SDLC tools such as Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow and Teams.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with AI governance, data privacy, and security frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Azure AI, Solution Architecture, or Endpoint Administration.
• Experience with citizen development enablement, including training, onboarding, and community building.
• Knowledge of Copilot Studio reference architectures, adaptive cards, and generative orchestration strategies.
• Experience in the media, entertainment, or streaming industry.
• Familiarity with Disney’s technology platforms, data environments, and compliance standards.
