Do you enjoy designing and implementing solutions to ambiguous and complex problems? Are you looking to expand your scope of impact and influence strategic decision making? Are you in the market for a new, exciting challenge where you are empowered to use your ingenuity to innovate? If so, we are looking for talented people like you to join our Regulatory, Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) solution delivery team.

The RISC team's charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. In this role, you will work closely with legal, business teams, selling partner experience and support teams, operational excellence, product, BI and data science/engineering teams to deliver high-impact end-to-end safety and compliance solutions. Think of this role as a non-technical "solution architect" where you will be given autonomy to develop a strategy and build effective policy enforcements to ensure product safety and compliance worldwide.

The Senior Risk Manager drives the development and implementation of new tools and programs that advance the store's global safety and compliance efforts. This role requires influencing cross-functional stakeholders, planning strategic projects with legal and business partners, securing team commitments, and developing daily, weekly, and monthly metrics while ensuring compliance with Amazon quality standards and regulatory program expectations.

Key job responsibilities
• Drive Cross-Functional Programs: Own and deliver complex, cross-cutting initiatives by partnering with legal, business, tech, and operational excellence teams—bringing structure and momentum to ambiguous, multi-stakeholder efforts.
• Influence Without Authority: Build trusted relationships across multiple organizations; align diverse stakeholders around shared goals, secure commitments, and drive decisions forward—even when you don't own the teams doing the work.
• Build the Mechanisms That Keep Us Sharp: Design and run the operating cadences (business reviews, launch readiness checkpoints, intake processes) that ensure our safety and compliance controls launch with quality and consistency every time.
• Own the Metrics That Matter: Define, develop, and maintain the daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics that give the team and leadership clear visibility into what's working, what's not, and where to focus next.
• Find the Friction and Fix It: Identify bottlenecks, eliminate redundant work, and drive automation opportunities that free up risk managers to focus on the high-judgment, high-impact work they do best.
• Raise the Quality Bar: Establish and maintain standards for control launches and program deliverables, ensuring every enforcement we ship meets Amazon's quality expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Turn Strategy into Action: Partner with leadership to translate business priorities and legal requirements into clear project plans with milestones, owners, dependencies, and timelines that teams can actually execute against.
• Build Tools and Frameworks That Scale: Champion the development of new tools, templates, and repeatable playbooks that accelerate the team's ability to launch safety and compliance programs worldwide.
• Write with Clarity and Purpose: Author crisp, well-structured documents—SOPs, program updates, leadership narratives—that make complex information accessible and drive informed decision-making.
• Be the Operational Backbone: Keep the trains running. Maintain visibility across workstreams, remove blockers, track commitments, and create the organizational structure that makes everyone on the team more effective at their jobs.
