Role: Sr Network Automation Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Network Automation Engineer to lead automation and modernization initiatives across a large-scale enterprise network environment. This role operates within a complex hybrid infrastructure spanning on-prem data centers and multi-cloud platforms.

This is an engineering-driven position focused on automation, programmability, scalable architecture, and production reliability. The successful candidate will modernize network operations through automation frameworks while maintaining enterprise-grade performance, availability, and security standards.

Position Summary

The Sr Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, automating, and supporting scalable network and load-balancing infrastructure across enterprise environments.

Key accountabilities include:
• Automating F5 BIG-IP lifecycle management
• Engineering programmable network solutions
• Driving Infrastructure as Code adoption
• Ensuring high availability and production stability
• Enabling secure hybrid connectivity across cloud and on-prem environments

Key Responsibilities

Network Automation & Engineering

• Design, configure, and support F5 BIG-IP (LTM mandatory; GTM/DNS preferred) in enterprise environments
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Ansible, Python, Terraform, and REST APIs
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of F5 and network components
• Implement Infrastructure as Code for network deployments

Enterprise Network Architecture

• Support and optimize hub-and-spoke network models
• Ensure efficient traffic flow, routing policies, and segmentation controls
• Engineer secure and scalable load balancing solutions
• Maintain hybrid connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/Azure)

Reliability & Production Stability

• Troubleshoot complex load balancer and network issues in production
• Perform root cause analysis and incident response
• Participate in change management and release validation
• Drive observability, logging, and monitoring improvements

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of overall network engineering experience
• Strong hands-on expertise with F5 BIG-IP (LTM mandatory; GTM/DNS preferred)
• Proven experience in network automation using Ansible, Python, REST APIs, or Terraform
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform mandatory)
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, routing, and switching
• Solid understanding of hub-and-spoke network architectures
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or financial services environments
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AWS or Azure networking
• Exposure to CI/CD integration for infrastructure automation
• F5 certifications (101/201/301)
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments
• Familiarity with API-driven infrastructure and GitOps methodologies
