Sr Financial Analyst

Location: Onsite / Hybrid / Offsite Onsite 4 days a week with flexibility on which days are onsite
Working Hours / Schedule 8:00 – 5:00 CST
Reason for opening the role(s) This is a 9-month engagement designed to support a team member's leave of absence and provide adequate time for knowledge transfer and cross-training. The selected worker will spend approximately the first four months learning the role and supporting the existing team member before independently assuming responsibilities during the leave period.
Possibility of Extension or Conversion? There is no expectation that the worker will be extended or converted.
Is overtime expected? There could be an opportunity for overtime during peak periods, but it is not required.
Primary Responsibilities This individual will support revenue accounting activities, including:
• Revenue and subsidiary accounting
• Trade revenue accounting
• Captive lending revenue accounting
• Accounting for smaller revenue streams
• Cash receipt processing and recording
• Journal entry preparation and posting
• Account reconciliations
• Variance analysis and reporting
• Daily, weekly, and month-end accounting activities
• Researching and explaining variances
• Consolidating information from multiple sources to understand revenue impacts
• Supporting process improvement initiatives to streamline and strengthen accounting cycles
Technical Skill Requirements Accounting Knowledge
Candidates must possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, including:
• Debits and credits
• Revenue recognition concepts
• Month-end close processes
• General accounting practices
• Reconciliation procedures
Financial Analysis
Candidates should demonstrate:
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to investigate variances and identify root causes
• Experience analyzing source data and financial reports
• Ability to connect business events, market conditions, and operational changes to financial results. Examples include understanding:
o Changes in business activity driving revenue fluctuations
o Market-driven impacts
o Interest rate or pricing changes affecting revenue streams
Technology Skills
• Intermediate Excel skills including Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas
• Ability to work with pre-built Power Query and SQL queries (will not be responsible for creating data models or SQL queries)

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILES
Education & Experience Requirements • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Finance
• OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Finance
Is there a preference for specific industry experience? Financial services industry would be a plus but is not required.
What type of experience would be a good fit for this role? Strong Fits:
• Revenue accountants

• Financial analysts with substantial accounting experience
• Audit professionals who possess strong accounting fundamentals.
What type of experience would not be a good fit for this role? This role is highly accounting-focused and requires a fact-based accounting mindset rather than forecasting or planning activities.
FP&A professionals whose experience is heavily focused on forecasting, budgeting, and projections rather than accounting operations and month-end close activities would not be a good fit for this role. Unlike FP&A roles, this role will conduct analysis to interpret current accounting data rather than forecasting.
