We are seeking aSenior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design, development, documentation, and testing of factory automation systems. This role involves integrating a wide range of industrial components and machinery, from PLC-based control systems to Ethernet communications, robotics, and power distribution.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in industrial automation, electrical system integration, and cross-functional collaboration. This role supports projects from concept through assembly and troubleshooting and contributes to continuous improvement of engineering tools and processes.
This is a100% onsite role in El Dorado Hills, CA.

Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design & Engineering
Design and schematically capture all electrical circuits for new and modified factory automation systems
Design electrical panels, enclosures, and cabling using approved CAD tools
Produce complete assembly and build documentation
Select and integrate PLC components per company standards
2. PLC & Controls Integration
Collaborate with software teams on PLC programming, including foundational functions and diagnostics
Support integration of PLC-based control systems into new electrical designs
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
Work with mechanical, software, and production teams to troubleshoot and debug systems
Support and advise technicians during system assembly
Provide technical support and training to staff
4. Process Improvement & Vendor Management
Participate in continuous improvement of design tools and processes
Research and evaluate new CAD tools and diagnostic equipment
Establish and maintain vendor relationships for electrical components and services
Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ years of experience in factory automation or industrial system integration
Strong PLC system design experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
