What to Expect
The Tesla SI Hardware team is at the forefront of revolutionizing artificial intelligence through cutting-edge hardware innovation. Comprising brilliant engineers and visionaries, the team designs and develops advanced SI inference chips tailored to accelerate Tesla’s machine learning capabilities. A key part of this effort is Dojo, Tesla's custom supercomputer system built to efficiently train massive neural networks on vast video data from the fleet. The work of Tesla's SI Hardware team powers the neural networks behind Full Self-Driving (FSD), and Tesla humanoid robot, Optimus, pushing the boundaries of computational efficiency and performance. By creating custom silicon and optimized architectures, the team ensures Tesla remains a leader in AI-driven automotive and energy solutions, shaping a future where intelligent machines enhance human life.Tesla’s SI Hardware team is looking for a Design-for-Test (DFT) Design Verification Engineer to work on custom ASICs. You will drive state of the art in the area of testability and contribute to product coverage and quality by verifying the DFT features pre-silicon and by delivering test content for post-silicon.
We are open to hiring in Austin, TX; Palo Alto, CA.
What You’ll Do
Create Verilog/System Verilog/UVM test benches to verify various DFT features in RTL such as SSN, compressed and uncompressed scan, memory BIST, JTAG, and boundary scan at block and SoC-levelÂ
Verify top-level features such as power-on self-test, clock observation, clock stop and scan dumpÂ
Run DV regressions & analyze coverage, triage & debug failuresÂ
Run gate level simulationsÂ
Work with the RTL designers on identifying design fixes as neededÂ
Work with test engineers on delivering pre-Si DV testcases for silicon bring upÂ
Participate in silicon bring up and post silicon ATE correlationÂ
What You’ll Bring
Knowledge of testability techniques and features (1149.1, 1149.6, 1687, 1500, Scan, Built-in-Self-Test, Loop-Back etc.) covering digital logic domain, embedded memories and PHY/IOsÂ
JTAG/1500/1687 networks and languages BSDL, ICL and PDLÂ
Experience in general design verification methodology, regressions, simulation and debug toolsÂ
Expertise in Verilog or System-Verilog Â
Working knowledge of scripting languages such as TCL, python (or another scripting language such as Perl)Â
Experience in triaging regressions, debugging, and resolving down to RTL or Testbench issuesÂ
Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
