As aSenior Associate, Modeling & Simulation Engineer,you will play a critical role in supporting thedesign, development, and delivery of innovative medical devices through advancedfinite element analysis (FEA),computational fluid dynamics (CFD), andsimulation-driven engineering in a regulated environment. In this role, you will help accelerate product development, improve design quality, and deliver safe, effective solutions that enhance patient outcomes. This position isonsite in Fort Worth, Texas.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- LeadFEA andCFD efforts supportingSurgical R&D medical device development, driving faster, cost-effective innovation
- Perform advancedstructural and dynamic simulations (linear/nonlinear, implicit/explicit, impact, transient, frequency) oncomplex, multi-material systems
- Developmulti-physics, large-scale models to enablevirtual prototyping across the product lifecycle
- Leverage tools such asAnsys Mechanical, FLUENT, LS-DYNA, and OptiStruct for modeling, simulation, andconvergence analysis
- Validate simulation results through correlation withexperimental data
- Defineproject scope, requirements, and timelines, managing multiple simulations to meet delivery goals
- Collaborate withcross-functional engineering teams to identify and resolve design issues early
- Supportregulatory submissions, post-market analysis, and Global Medical Affairs through simulation insights
- Drive innovation by advancingsimulation methods, tools, and best practices
- Solve complex,multi-disciplinary engineering challenges using strong analytical skills
- Mentor team members and deliver clear, professionaltechnical reports
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+6 yrs.; M.S.+0 yrs.)Â
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant ExperienceÂ
- Relocation: Yes
- Sponsorship: Yes
Preferred
- Strong foundation instructural mechanics, dynamics, material modeling, and computational fluid dynamics
- Experience withmedical devices, R&D, or regulated environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
