Job Summary

Role Purpose

The Associate Instructional Designer develops engaging and effective training programs focused on Candescent software applications and tools to be used by Candescent employees and customers. This role involves designing instructional content that supports learners in mastering technical processes and systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while producing high-quality instructional content.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

What you will be responsible for and what you will do

• Create and deliver on-demand and live virtual training that simplifies complex software concepts into clear, user-friendly learning experiences
• Manage the onboarding program for Candescent’s Client Care team, including delivering live virtual sessions and coordinating with Care managers  
• Create and deliver on-demand and live webinars on soft skills essential for Client Care’s success
• Design and develop in a variety of formats:mainly self-paced on demand courses, videos and job aids, but occasionally live webinars; record courses and videos
• Developassessment tools (e.g. tests) to evaluate participant comprehension
• Over the course of a project, the instructional designer is expected to:
  • Utilize their knowledge ofinstructional design principles andadult learning theory to train business and software concepts effectively
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, work independently, perform under pressure and deliver high quality results on time
  • Access and usesubject matter experts in other departments to determine content and scope of training
  • Incorporateinstructional design process methodology: audience analysis, job tasks, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, testing strategies, and learning activities
  • Utilize AI where appropriate in the design and development process
  • Participate ininternal material reviews before distributing new learning content broadly
  • Deliverlive webinars where appropriate
  • Continuously evaluate, enhance, and improve training materials
• In addition, the instructional designer will contribute to the team and company by:
  • Looking for opportunities toinnovate processes, tools and training design
  • Actively contributing todepartmental meta work such as template designs and processes improvements
  • Demonstrating stronginterpersonal skills including written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (instructional design, business, communications or related field preferred)
• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience as an instructional designer focused on eLearning required, preferably in the software industry
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding ofinstructional design and adult learning theory, strategies, and techniques
• Demonstratesnative proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Proficient inArticulate 360, Copilot, Camtasia, Snagit, Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration software such as Teams (or equivalent software)
• Proficient inusing AI to design training courses and in everyday work
• Excellentproject management skills
• High motivation, ability to workindependently, perform under pressure and deliver results on time
• Excellent verbal, writing and composition skills, solid research and interviewing skills, and solid technical ability; must be able tocommunicate effectively with diverse learning audiences who will participate in training projects
