Connect Families & Empower Youth: Join SPIFFY as Engagement Coordinator!
What You Will Do
- Lead Caregiver Engagement: Plan outreach, workshops, and facilitate the Parent/Caregiver Subcommittee to equip families with resources for youth substance misuse prevention.
- Support Youth Leadership: Guide youth members on the Steering Committee and support youth participatory action research projects.
- Build Community Partnerships: Connect with local schools, pediatric offices, and community groups to engage underrepresented families.
- Align Regional Efforts: Connect local strategies to the Regional Policy and Norms Workgroup and support program alignment across districts.
- Manage Coalition Logistics: Facilitate meetings, coordinate communication, collect assessment data, and meet grant reporting requirements.
- Center Equity: Apply anti-racism and health equity principles to all coalition strategies and decision-making.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a collaborative community connector passionate about public health, serving underserved populations, and empowering families. Candidates typically bring a Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or public policy, though equivalent combinations of education, training, and lived experience are strongly encouraged. Additionally, we are looking for up to 5 years of demonstrated success in coalition building, municipal partnerships, or community organizing focused on youth and family engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor’s in Public Health, Public Policy, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Expertise: Science-based substance misuse prevention models, youth development frameworks, and systems-level equity work.
- Experience (Highly Preferred): Up to 5 years in coalition building, municipal partnerships, or community organizing.
- Logistics: Ability to travel locally within Hampshire County, work flexible daytime/evening hours, and manage remote/field work.
Preferred Experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience facilitating parent subcommittees, youth groups, or conducting community assessment reporting.
Terms of Employment
- Schedule: Part-time (15–19 hours/week), year-round position with flexible daytime hours and occasional evening/weekend meetings.
- Critical Need: Driving parent/caregiver involvement and youth substance misuse prevention in Hampshire County.
- Salary Range: $25.00 – $30.00 / hour.
- Benefits: Not eligible for benefits.
