Family First Health is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment services to pediatric patients. This position will provide high-quality, family-centered speech and language services while collaborating with families, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support each child's developmental and functional needs.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete speech-language pathology evaluations and reassessments and document findings in accordance with applicable standards and FFH requirements.
  • Develop individualized plans of care, treatment goals, and skilled interventions based on evaluation findings, patient needs, and professional judgment.
  • Provide skilled speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing interventions within applicable scope of practice and demonstrated competency.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment; modify interventions and goals as clinically appropriate and document progress.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education regarding communication strategies, home programs, feeding supports, and safety as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with OT, PT, medical providers, care teams, schools/community partners, and other involved professionals as appropriate to support coordinated care.
  • Recommend and support appropriate communication tools, strategies, or materials within professional scope.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation and support required authorization, referral, and care coordination processes.
  • Participate in case consultation, clinical meetings, quality improvement, competency development, and continuing education activities.
  • Delegate only appropriate non-skilled tasks to therapy support staff and provide direction consistent with role boundaries and applicable requirements.
  • Maintain treatment spaces, equipment, and supplies in a safe and patient-ready condition and promptly report safety concerns.
  • Perform other duties within scope as assigned.

 

  • Assess pediatric speech, language, communication, feeding/swallowing, and related developmental needs using age- and developmentally appropriate methods within professional scope.
  • Use developmentally appropriate behavioral and engagement strategies to support participation and therapeutic outcomes across a varied pediatric population.
  • Use basic sign-supported communication and other communication strategies when clinically appropriate and within demonstrated competency.
  • Assess, recommend, implement, and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and devices within professional scope, including caregiver training and coordination with payers/vendors as appropriate.

 

 

 

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program required.
  • Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
  • Current CPR certification and other FFH-required clinical competencies/clearances required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required upon completion of the Clinical Fellowship. An appropriately qualified Clinical Fellow (CF) may be considered when FFH has an appropriate supervision structure and the candidate meets applicable licensure, payer, credentialing, and organizational requirements.
  • Pediatric or community-based therapy experience preferred when applicable to assigned patient population.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
