Job Profile Summary:

In this role, you will design, develop and provide support for applications in Prudential Singapore. As part of this dynamic role, you will work closely with business units and other IT teams to deliver leading edge technology to enable digital capabilities of Prudential Singapore. The Solutions Architect will design and validate technology solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise standards. This role bridges business needs and technical delivery, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Description: 

Solution Design: 

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges, pain points, and strategic goals. 

• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions aligned with enterprise standards. 

• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions are practical and implementable. 

• Provide end-to-end architectural guidance for new projects and initiatives (e.g., LSRC & GSRC). 

• Define solution blueprints, integration patterns, and technology stacks to meet project objectives while adhering to enterprise governance. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

• Partner closely with internal teams such as PACS, SRE, Infrastructure, TRM, BISO, and Core Systems to ensure cohesive and integrated solution delivery. 

• Facilitate technical alignment and resolve inter-team dependencies across the delivery lifecycle. 

Proof of Concepts (POC) and Technical Validation: 

• Design and lead POCs to validate new solution ideas, tools, or architectures before enterprise adoption. 

• Document outcomes, performance metrics, and recommendations for broader implementation. 

Alignment with Group Technology Strategy: 

• Ensure proposed solutions comply with architecture principles, security frameworks, and strategic direction. 

• Participate in architecture forums and contribute to shared technology capabilities.

Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify and address existing architectural or technical pain points across applications and platforms. 

• Drive simplification, modernisation, and optimisation initiatives to improve system performance, maintainability, and scalability. 

• Continuously explore emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks relevant to the insurance industry. 

• Evaluate potential solutions through technical assessments and proof-of-concepts (POCs).

  • Java EE, RDBMS & PL/SQL, NoSQL, Object-Oriented Design, RESTful API, JBoss / IBM WAS
  • Mobile Development (Objective C, Swift, Android, Hybrid, HTML5)
  • ETL (IBM Datastage), Netezza, Business Intelligence (SAP BusinessObjects), Attunity,
  • Hadoop (Hortonworks)
  • Functional Testing (HP QuickTest Professional), Load Testing (JMeter)
  • Robotic Process Automation (BluePrism, UIPath)

Working Experience

• 6-8 years in designing and developing and support applications.
• Experience in Agile software development

Education

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
