Software Staff Engineer (Embedded Systems)
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $63–$71/hour
Work Type: 100% Onsite
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret 

Overview:
Seeking aSoftware Staff Engineer to supportembedded systems and vehicle electronics integration for ground combat platforms. This role focuses onOS/BSP development, software integration, and full lifecycle embedded software engineering in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and configuresoftware development environments
• Developembedded software, firmware, and documentation
• Performrequirements analysis and detailed software design
• Write, test, and debug code (C, C++, C#, Java, Python)
• Executehardware/software integration and system validation
• Developtest procedures and perform unit/functional testing
• Supportsoftware release integration (CSCI-level)
• Troubleshoot issues acrossmultiple test phases
• Participate inAgile ceremonies (scrum, demos, sprint activities)
• Collaborate withsystems, program, and quality teams

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of embedded software experience
• Experience withLinux, VxWorks, RTOS, BSPs, and virtualization
• Strong programming skills (C, C++, Python, Java, C#)
• Experience withGIT, Bitbucket, and development toolchains
• Knowledge ofnetwork protocols (CAN, TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232/422)
• Experience withAgile development processes

Preferred:

• Experience withYocto or Linux image build tools
• Knowledge ofhypervisors, device drivers, bootloaders
• Familiarity withSELinux, secure boot, and embedded cybersecurity
• Experience withMOSA, SOSA, FACE, GCIA architectures
• Experience withground combat vehicle systems

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to obtain aDoD Secret Clearance
• Ability to work aroundmilitary vehicles (ASR compliant)
• Willingness to workoccasional overtime
