Location: Remote (U.S.)
Type: W-2 contract, 3 year assignment

About the role
Join an application team supporting enterprise asset management and integration systems for an organization in the energy sector. You’ll plan and run testing, track defects through to resolution, and help establish testing standards and automation for the team.
We’re hiring at junior, mid and senior levels. Scope depends on experience.

What you’ll do

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases and quality assurance procedures for the team’s applications
• Identify, document and track defects
• Validate fixes before release
• Develop tools and procedures for manual and automated testing
• Evaluate, select and implement testing tools
• Help establish software QA and testing standards for the team

What you need

• Experience in manual and/or automated software QA testing
• Familiarity with defect-tracking tools and, where applicable, automated test frameworks or scripting
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills

For Mid and Senior levels, also:

• Experience developing tools and procedures for testing and test automation
• Experience evaluating, selecting and implementing testing tools
• Ability to help build and grow a testing practice within an organization

Preferred background

• Commercial nuclear power plant operations experience, ideally with accountability to NERC and FERC requirements
• Or experience at a regulated utility or heavy-industrial company

Nice to have

• Test automation with Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, in Python, Java or C#
• Defect and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or ALM
• Testing IBM Maximo or another enterprise asset management (EAM) system
• API and integration testing (REST/SOAP, Postman or similar)
• SQL for data validation
• Software quality assurance in a regulated environment (e.g., NQA-1)

Experience levels

• Junior (0–4 years): runs assigned test cases and logs defects with general guidance
• Mid (4–8 years): plans and runs testing independently and builds automated tests
• Senior (8+ years): sets test strategy, selects tools, leads QA work and mentors others

Work environment

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and use stairs
• Travel: 0–5%
