Client is seeking a motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support all phases of the software quality assurance process. This role is responsible for designing, executing, and documenting testing activities while helping ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable custom applications for internal and external partners.
Working in a collaborative environment, you will partner with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to validate software functionality, develop automated testing solutions, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve testing processes and product quality.
Core Responsibilities
• Design, execute, and document functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing activities.
• Define and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks aligned with program requirements and industry standards.
• Develop, maintain, and support automated test suites, testing tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Write and validate user story acceptance criteria and verify delivered features meet business and functional requirements prior to sign-off.
• Document test results, defect investigations, root cause analyses, and testing metrics with clear, traceable reporting.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, reproduce defects in test environments, and collaborate with developers to resolve problems.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and process inefficiencies, recommending and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers, hardware engineers, mission planners, and stakeholders during design reviews, sprint ceremonies, risk assessments, and other project activities.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring junior QA team members.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Experience performing functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated testing tools, frameworks, and test suites.
• Ability to write, validate, and verify user story acceptance criteria.
• Experience documenting test cases, execution results, defects, investigations, and quality metrics.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and defect analysis skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to support continuous improvement efforts related to testing processes, tooling, and software quality.
Work Details
• Opportunity for full-time employment conversion.
• Work schedule: 5/40, 1st Shift.
• Worksite classification: Worker will telework less than 50% of the time.
• Security clearance: Ability to obtain clearance required.
• Role requires access to ECI information.
• Overtime status: Exempt.
