In this role, based at a U.S. Government facility inBethesda, MD, yourprimary focus will be on developing and maintainingserver-side components for a web-basedLearning Management System (LMS). You will support theevolution of a mature and widely used platform by enhancing backend modules, improving system reliability, and implementing new features in collaboration with Navy partners.
When program needs and funding align, you may also have opportunities to contribute to otherTactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems—providing exposure tostate-of-the-art technologies that directly support the development of advancedsonar tactical decision aids (TDAs).

What You’ll Work On
- Develop and enhance server-side frameworks and modules for a web-based Learning Management System (LMS), includingJava Servlets,JSPs,Tomcat integration, data parsing, and backend workflow logic.
- Manipulate XML and JSON structures to support LMS configuration, data exchange, and system automation.
- Use ANT and Gradle inbuild and deployment pipelines supporting LMS environments.
- Work acrossboth Linux (RHEL/Bash) and Windows (shell scripting) operational environments.
- Learn and apply new programming languages and technologies, with mentorship and support from experienced teammates.
- Occasionallysupport hardware system configuration and build-out, gaining exposure to full system integration.

Primary Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in anagile team environment supporting a large-scale program.
- Own and deliver backend software solutions inJava SE,Servlets,JSP, and related LMS technologies.
- Maintain and extend server-side LMS modules running in servlet containers such asApache Tomcat.
- Implement parser logic usingJavaScript and applyHTML5 concepts where needed in LMS workflows.
- Manipulate XML and JSON files in support of LMS configuration and data integration.
- Utilize ANT and Gradle build tools for compiling, packaging, and deploying workflows.
- Work in bothRHEL Linux and Windows environments, including Bash and Windows shell scripting.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field that provides strong software development skills.
- Experience: Around5 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
- Designing and developingreal-time acoustic signal processing algorithms
- Buildingparallel processing solutions
- Working withmicroservices
- Developing software forsignal processing,real-time data analysis, orvisualization/simulation systems
- Developing Java-based server frameworks or web application backends using Java SE, Java Servlets, JSP, XML/JSON manipulation, and related technologies
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain aU.S. security clearance.
- Certification: Must be willing to earn anIAT Level I (or higher) certification after hire (company-supported).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with parser development or extending JSP libraries for dynamic content.
- Experience in integrating Java backend services with web front-end frameworks.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
