What to Expect

Location: Amsterdam
Duration: 5-6 months
Period: Fulltime
Start date: January/February 2027

NOTE: YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN EDUCATION DURING THE ENTIRE INTERNSHIP TO BE CONSIDERED.

As a software engineer intern, you will work on our internally used business applications, side by side with experienced engineers on regional projects as well as time-sensitive improvements. These applications are developed in-house, give us a competitive advantage and are an essential part of our business, and your job is to help optimize and expand them. It is an exciting and challenging position in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, where you will work with project managers, software engineers, quality engineers, release engineers and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain features in our in-house applications, mainly on the backend (C#/.NET, Go) with some frontend work
  • Write unit tests and take part in code reviews
  • Investigate and fix production issues alongside senior engineers, and dig into the root cause to drive continual improvement
  • Work with SQL databases to support reporting and data flows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to own your solution from start to deployment
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks in parallel in a dynamic, agile development environment
  • Continually learn and apply software best practices, tools and technologies

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering / Computer Science or related program
  • Familiarity with a modern backend web stack (preferably C# or Go; Java, Node.js and Python are also welcome)
  • Basic understanding of RESTful web services and web applications
  • Basic SQL knowledge (MSSQL, MySQL etc.), and awareness of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Familiarity with source control management systems (preferably Git/Bitbucket and JIRA)
  • Curious and eager to learn, with Level C1 in English (written and spoken)
  • Nice to have: frontend frameworks (Angular, React), test automation, AI-assisted development tools, message queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or personal projects and an active GitHub profile
