​​Within Microsoft Fabric, the Data Integration team enables organizations to connect, move, and shape data across their entire data estate. As data is generated across applications, devices, and systems, our integration capabilities make it easy to ingest, transform, and prepare data for downstream use. Fabric’s unified integration experience simplifies how customers bring data together, ensuring it is trusted, usable, and ready to power analytics, real-time insights, and AI scenarios. ​ 

​​The Fabric Data Integration team is currently seekingDevOps Engineer – Azure/Fabric with expertise in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, PowerShell/Python, infrastructure automation, Git, Azure deployment technologies, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role will focus on automating ADF and Microsoft Fabric region/cloud buildouts, building scalable deployment pipelines, improving operational reliability, and driving zero-touch automation. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Airflow, ARM/Bicep, networking, identity, and multi-region cloud deployments is preferred. 



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD & Release Engineering
    • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines usingAzure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
    • Automate build, validation, deployment, and post-deployment verification.
    • Support safe promotion of changes across development, test, and production environments.
    • Improve deployment reliability through automated validation and quality gates.
  • Region & Cloud Buildout Automation
    • Automate infrastructure and service onboarding fornew Azure regions and sovereign clouds.
    • Identify manual deployment steps and convert them into repeatable, zero-touch automation.
    • Develop reusable scripts/tools for pre-buildout, buildout, validation, and post-buildout activities.
    • Support ADF, ADMS, Fabric DI, and Airflow deployment workflows.
  • Infrastructure & Automation
    • Develop automation usingPowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, REST APIs, ARM/Bicep or equivalent infrastructure-as-code technologies.
    • Manage configuration across environments and regions.
    • Build automated health checks and deployment validation mechanisms.
    • Improve scalability and repeatability of infrastructure provisioning.
  • Reliability & Troubleshooting
    • Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, networking, authentication, certificate, and infrastructure issues.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and develop automation to prevent repeat failures.
    • Improve monitoring, diagnostics, alerting, and operational readiness.
    • Participate in production/live-site investigations and drive issues to closure.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, React, or Python ○ OR equivalent experience. 
  • Experience in data integration or migrations or ELT or ETL tooling is mandatory 
    Strong experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
  • PowerShell and/or Python scripting
  • Git and branch/PR workflows
  • Azure infrastructure and deployment concepts
  • Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation
  • REST APIs and automation tooling
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Monitoring, logging, and incident investigation experience
  • Kubernetes/AKS and container technologies

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: 
○ This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.​ 
  • ARM/Bicep
  • Azure networking and Managed VNet concepts
  • Azure identity, Managed Identity, Service Principal, RBAC, certificates
  • Experience with multi-region or sovereign-cloud deployments
  • Kusto / Azure Monitor / Geneva or similar observability platforms
