Responsibilities:
- Supporting the "WAIST" (Why Am I Seeing This): feature across Client and Instagram.
- Will manage and maintain ML classification models, monitor data quality, analyze dataset integrity, and investigate performance regressions.
- Will also identify system gaps to prevent invalid configurations from begin onboarded and ensure operational excellence by maintaining quality guardrails across ML pipelines.
- This is a temporary role and is not a full-time position at Client.
- The individual in this role will contribute to defined project deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional partners to build, improve, and maintain software systems.
- Deliver well-scoped software enhancements and features aligned to project goals and timelines.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, data, security) to support execution of defined deliverables.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
- Contribute to operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and performance improvements as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience with developing evaluated machine learning models particularly classification models
- Experience building or supporting ML systems in production environments
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar).
- Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software.
- Experience with common development practices and tools (e.g., version control, code review, CI/CD).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience at Client would be preferred
- Experience at similar companies such as Google, Apple, Uber, Netflix etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
