Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer II to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of scalable, cloud-native applications within the Infinite Nepal / Cotiviti product suite.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain software services and reusable components that power large-scale data processing and business-critical applications. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, Scrum Masters, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to engineering best practices.
This position is ideal for a software engineer with strong Python development experience and a passion for solving complex technical problems in the US healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reusable software solutions using Python.
Build and enhance data ingestion, transformation, and processing systems capable of handling large-scale datasets.
Implement and maintain event-driven and serverless architectures using services such as AWS Lambda, SQS, and related AWS components.
Design and optimize data storage solutions using Amazon DocumentDB and relational databases.
Create and maintain automated workflows, scripts, and tools to improve operational efficiency and software quality.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure software reliability and performance.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and non-production issues in a timely manner.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.
Collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams and actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and grooming sessions.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions.
Provide technical support and investigate software-related issues reported by internal and external stakeholders.
Support shift-based operational responsibilities when required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
3-5 years of professional software development experience using Python.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software engineering principles.
Solid experience developing applications using Core Python and commonly used Python libraries/frameworks.
Experience building and deploying applications on AWS cloud services.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB and/or Amazon DocumentDB.
Experience designing and optimizing MongoDB aggregation pipelines.
Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar platforms.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with message broker and event-driven technologies such as Amazon SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
Experience developing serverless applications with AWS Lambda.
Proficiency with Git-based source control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats including JSON, CSV, and Parquet.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality tools, and software release processes.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building microservices and distributed systems.
Exposure to large-scale data processing and analytics platforms.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation.
Knowledge of healthcare data, healthcare analytics, or the US healthcare domain.
Experience working in highly regulated or compliance-driven environments.
