Job Summary:
- Software Engineer to support our next generation Point-of-Sale platform. This role is responsible for delivering backend enhancements, maintaining cloud-native services, and providing L4 production support to ensure platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.
- The ideal candidate has strong experience in Golang, microservices, APIs, cloud technologies, and production troubleshooting, with the ability to balance feature development, incident resolution, and continuous platform improvements in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain Golang-based microservices and APIs.
- Build and enhance REST and GraphQL services supporting store operations and enterprise integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Support teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
- Refactor legacy applications to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Support production deployments, change management, and operational readiness activities
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience; 2+ years of hands-on Golang development
- Strong experience with Microservices Architecture
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs
- Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- CI/CD pipeline development and deployment experience
- Production support, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, and distributed systems
- GraphQL development (gqlgen or similar), gRPC, Protobuf, OpenAPI
- Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or AWS SQS
- Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Retail, POS, or Store Systems experience
