Do you enjoy owning a feature from backend to UI, and shipping it to real users every day? Are you excited by hard problems like payments, real-time sessions and systems that simply can't go down?

Kabisa is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our small systems team in Kigali and help build Rwanda's first Charging Point Management System (CPMS), along with the internal tools that run East Africa's only unified EV ecosystem.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll build and ship features across our JavaScript stack, front end and back end. Your main focus will be the CPMS and the Kabisa charging app, which serve our largest customer base: drivers charging at our sites, plus other charging companies using our platform.

You'll also contribute to internal applications, such as the warehouse management and operations tools our maintenance team uses daily. We're a team of generalists, so you won't be boxed into one layer. By the end of the year, we expect you to have released new features into production.

WHY THIS JOB MATTERS

Our CPMS is the first of its kind in Rwanda. It handles many charging sessions and payment transactions every day, so reliability and correctness matter as much as speed.

We don't have a separate QA team. Quality comes from the engineers themselves, through automated tests that run on every push. You'll have real ownership, and your work will directly shape how people in East Africa charge their EVs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, build and ship new features for the CPMS and the Kabisa charging app, end to end.

  • Work on payment flows and charging-session logic where accuracy and uptime are critical.

  • Build and improve internal tools for operations and maintenance, such as warehouse, spare-parts and ticketing systems.

  • Write automated tests and keep the codebase healthy, since there is no separate QA team.

  • Pick up work from our Linear board and handle shifting priorities, including urgent feature requests.

  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to move faster without cutting corners.

  • Collaborate closely with the charging and maintenance teams to understand what they actually need.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience in a company setting. This role is not suited to fresh graduates.

  • Strong JavaScript skills across both front end and back end. You're comfortable working anywhere in the stack.

  • A track record of shipping production features that real users depend on.

  • Experience writing automated tests and working with CI pipelines.

  • Comfort owning problems independently and working in a small, fast-moving team.

  • Experience with payments, real-time systems or EV charging protocols (such as OCPP) is a strong advantage.

  • A public GitHub or portfolio showing code you've written.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

  • Kabisa is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome people from different backgrounds and experiences who are excited about helping make electric mobility a reality and contributing to a more sustainable transportation future.
