Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Experience: 3–6 Years Employment Type: Full-time Department: Engineering / Quality Assurance

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, experience in automation testing, API testing, and CI/CD integration, along with a solid understanding of software development and testing principles.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and reusable test automation frameworks.

• Develop automated test scripts using Java, Python, or JavaScript.

• Automate web applications using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.

• Design and implement API automation using REST Assured or similar tools.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Develop unit, integration, and system-level automated tests.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Identify, debug, and troubleshoot software defects and automation failures.

• Perform database validation using SQL queries.

• Conduct performance and load testing using tools such as Apache JMeter.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA engineers throughout the SDLC.

• Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.

• Analyze test results, investigate root causes, and improve test coverage.

• Optimize test execution time, reduce flaky tests, and improve automation reliability.

• Maintain test documentation, reports, and quality metrics.

• Testing Concepts: Functional, Regression, Integration, Unit, and End-to-End Testing

• Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SDLC, STLC

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing automation frameworks from scratch.

• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OOP, and design patterns.

• Experience with microservices and distributed systems testing.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.

• Experience with message queues and event-driven architecture testing.

• Understanding of security testing and application performance monitoring.

• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor or Claude.

• Knowledge of parallel execution, test reporting, and test optimization.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.

• Relevant software development or test automation certifications are an advantage.
